My Artwork at Jason Jones
I’ve just returned from a visit to Lymington in Hampshire. If you are in the area you can now view and buy my work from Jason Jones in 26 Queen Street. It’s a hair salon with a lovely atmosphere in a 17th Century building where not only can you get a fabulous new hair do (of course), you can also view and buy artworks by several artists.
My Favourite Album Cover of All Time (So Far)
House Tornado by Throwing Muses 4AD – 1988
I remember when I got my first job in a record shop in the late 80’s, I found this album in the racks one day and bought it on the strength of the cover which I thought was stunning.
The artwork itself is created from amazing watercolours and collages by Japanese artist Shinro Ohtake.
The album cover’s art direction and design was by Vaughan Oliver, who was one of my favourite graphic designers from this time.
As it turned out the music was awesome too, but I wouldn’t even have minded if it wasn’t, the cover was so good.

My Lovely Vinyl
Earlier I was looking at USB turntables online, thinking about how amazing it will be the day I can finally convert my all vinyl to mp3 files. As it turns out, with a little working out I have just discovered that I can already do this without having to buy any kind of gadget or gizmo. It’s a beautiful thing, I got my 1210, an old amp and GarageBand. Now I can get all my lovely vinyl onto my iPod. A good day indeed…
Snow on the Beach
Despite the fact that it never snows in Bournemouth, the other day we actually got some. And it settled. Even on the beach.
CHRISTMAS ARTS MARKET – POOLE
SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS ARTS MARKET
Another seasonal date for your diary, I’ll be down at this Art Market on Sunday 6th DECEMBER between 10am and at least 3pm. Word is, the market will stay open later if everyone is up for it, which is great news.
There’s going to be lots of other artists and makers selling their wares too, which will be perfect for present ideas for Christmas. There’s also going to be live music including gospel choirs no less, and fairy lights in the trees, so festive vibes all round.

KUBE CHRISTMAS ART FAIR
Saturday | Sunday 28th – 29th November. I shall be at the fabulous KUBE Christmas Art Fair extravaganza at the end of this month. It’s at the Kube Gallery in Poole, Dorset. I shall be there on Sunday 29th. The event is on from 10am-4pm spread over 3 entire floors. There is a lovely cafe, live music, affordable art, fashion, workshops and much more.
